Sash Windows
Original timber
sash windows were used in houses from around the late 1700
1950. The sash window design was pleasing and the application was very practical.
Sash windows allow for good ventilation and easy access for cleaning the
outside of the windows. The owner could open the bottom part of
the sash window and by literally sitting on the concrete sill they were
able to clean the outside windows should a window cleaner not be
affordable.
In certain circumstances
you may wish to keep the character of the original sash window, in this
case the vertical sash, we have some sash window examples for you to see.

The benefits
of modern sash windows
Todays
sash windows have all the elegance of yesteryears timber sash windows.
Modern sash windows also have the added benefits of low maintenance
and sprung counter balance sashes. This has obvious benefits over
the old iron and lead sash weights on a waxed cord, which were prone
to breaking. The new sash windows carry all the same architectural
features of the old timber sash windows.
Double glazing
sash windows with K glass and storm proofing mean youll experience
no more drafty windows.
